Does God say we can't have fun ?

NO! But what is your idea of fun? If it’s drunken parties, sexual promiscuity and other vices, God would oppose it. But the most rewarding, and long lasting definition of "fun" includes being in God’s will. For example, God doesn’t say you shouldn’t drink alcoholic beverages (Jesus did) or have sex (with your wife). Yet, he commands you NOT to commit adultery (physically or mentally), and commands against "drunkenness (or otherwise losing control). Keep in mind that God created many experiences to be JOY to the world. Yes, he also knows he’s "testing us." God wants us to enjoy the test - but not to excess. God created sex. God created the ability to make wine. God created food that we love and enjoy. But he also commands us not to get drunk, not to commit adultery and not to be a glutton. Don’t think God is against fun. HE CREATED IT. If you are driven to EXCESS, or if you blame God for a "bad habit", first, realize that God didn’t create the habit - he created the Joy. Second, understand that evil influence (Satan) helps you sustain a bad choice. It doesn’t mean God condones it. If trapped in a "vice", ASK God to help you. NEVER SUSPECT that God doesn’t want you to have fun. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have color, love, happiness, skiing, art, music, golf, satisfaction... the list could go on forever. God wants us to enjoy life the best we can - and within his will. But the ultimate "test" of love for him (through his sacrifice of his beloved Son) still exists.
