| You KNOW many
things you cant see. You dont see wind, but you prepare for a hurricane. You
dont see gravity, but you dont jump off cliffs. You dont see
electricity, but you dont stick wet fingers into sockets. Your experience teaches
you about wind, gravity and electricity. You were told by others. Then you gained
experience. Likewise, you will know God when you can experience God. Otherwise, the
"shock" you receive at death will be far, FAR greater than any electrical
shock you feel on Earth. To experience God:
< TEST your authority. Really TEST
it. A test is not an emotional response (e.g. "burning in the bosom") a lot of
things can cause that. Intelligently TEST it. What really PROVES its
Divine? Prophecy is a key. Look for archaeological confirmation and scientific accuracy
(but realize that these areas may not have "caught up" to the Bible yet).
< COMMIT yourself to that
authority and see what it can do. Gods command (in the Bible) is to commit yourself
to recognizing Jesus as Lord and Savior (it means believing, asking forgiveness and asking
direction - Lordship). Pray for wisdom and guidance.
< PRAY & PREPARE yourself for
results. Pray for your NEEDS, not your greeds. Prepare for evil influence (Satan) to
discourage you. Expect God to work. Thank him in advance. And RECORD, at least remember,
what he did.
< LEARN from your experience. As you
"experience God" hopefully you will learn to trust him more. Ask him to guide
you daily. You will be amazed how your time becomes better spent with less stress.
< APPLY your learning by telling others.
We are commanded to teach others who have not yet "experienced God" - [Mt
28:18-20]. Like the boy who doesnt know a hurricane or a girl who doesnt know
gravity, we need everyone to also KNOW a God we cannot see.
