If God wants to be with us eternally, why doesn't he just
come to
earth and be with us?
| God did - as Jesus -
to demonstrate his love for us, and teach us exactly how to be with him forever. Eternity
is a lot longer than life on earth. And the "new heaven and new earth"
[Rev 21] is a lot nicer than this earth. God exists in a realm beyond time and
space, though he can choose to enter it at any time (as he did in the person of Jesus and
on other occasions). But God’s purpose for this earth is not eternal. It’s
VERY temporary. His purpose is to provide an opportunity for all of us to know him, to
follow him and to prove our love for him |
